How Does Ultherapy Work?
Once you arrive for your session, we'll have you relax in one of our comfortable treatment rooms as Dr. Ran or a member of our team applies a topical numbing agent to desensitize your skin. Our office also provides nerve blocks, oral sedation, and pain medication to help you manage any discomfort. During the session, we'll use a specialized handpiece that emits ultrasound energy deep into your skin to stimulate your body's natural production of collagen and elastin, two vital proteins that keep your skin firm and supple. Depending on the number of areas you are having treated, your sessions can take about 1 – 2 hours. It's normal for the treated skin to be somewhat pink and swollen after your treatment, but this will pass within a few days.
